Devin Neal

The only returning 1,000-yard rusher in the conference, Neal has a solid argument as the best running back in the Big 12 for the upcoming season. He spearheads a dangerous backfield duo alongside Daniel Hishaw, and the two should make their case as arguably the best 1-2 punch in the conference. Neal’s success will play a vital role in the offense being as good as it can be.

Cobee Bryant

One of just a few returning players from the 2022 All-Big 12 First Team, Bryant is the most important player on the defensive side of the ball for the Jayhawks. He was the team’s leader in interceptions and passes defensed, and will be tasked with guarding opposing teams’ best receivers. His success will go a long way in the Jayhawks taking another step in the right direction.

Kenny Logan Jr.

Logan has been the leading tackler for the Jayhawks in both of the past two seasons, and I don’t see any reason why that would change this year. He is also one of just two Jayhawks last year to have at least one interception (2), one pass defended (5), one tackle for loss (1.5), one forced fumble (1), and one fumble recovery (1). His ability to make plays all over the field is a very valuable asset to have.
