Jalen Wilson — Los Angeles Lakers (Pick No. 47)

The Lakers held a private workout with Wilson last week, and reports suggest the organization liked what they saw. Rui Hachimura is heading into free agency, and it will take a hefty price to keep him in LA. Could the Lakers take a flier on Wilson and hope he develops into a similar player?

One thing Wilson does not lack is experience, and he is one of the more NBA-ready prospects in the draft pool. He could play serviceable bench minutes behind LeBron James and Anthony Davis when they need a breather — or even scoot into the starting lineup when the duo takes their rest games.

Wilson wouldn’t immediately be a big-time contributor, but LA gives him as good of a chance as anyone for playing time. Once LeBron retires and they go into rebuild mode, Jalen could be at the forefront of the wing room. He’d be an absolute steal at this pick, and it’s a very realistic destination for the 2023 Big 12 Player of the Year winner.
