It seems as though every player on the 60s or 70s Celtics teams has an extraordinary background, and that is indeed the case with Jo Jo White. What makes his career even crazier is that he almost lost two years in the NBA due to a two-year military obligation, but Boston’s general manager made sure that Jo Jo did not slip away — they had extremely high hopes for him.

White won two NBA titles, was the Finals MVP in 1976, made seven All-Star teams, two All-NBA teams, and was selected to the Hall of Fame in 2015. He enjoyed nearly a decade of greatness, and he was always one of the best players in the sport when he was active.

There are not many players in the history of the league who were fiercer competitors than White. He will forever go down as a legend for the Kansas Jayhawks and the Boston Celtics.
