San Antonio Spurs, 2006-2009

Vaughn is a blueprint for backup point guards in the NBA. Fundamentally sound, made the right decisions, tough on-ball defender, and terrific playmaker. He was never the biggest guy on the court, but he always made his impact felt in the little ways.

He was Tony Parker’s backup when the San Antonio Spurs won an NBA title in 2007. In 2001-02, Vaughn averaged 6.6 points, 4.3 assists, and 0.8 steals while appearing in all 82 games for the Atlanta Hawks.

Although Vaughn bounced around teams, he was a serviceable second-unit guy during his time in the league. After his 12-year career, he became an assistant for Gregg Popovich just two years after his retirement. Vaughn is currently the head coach for the Brooklyn Nets and signed a long-term deal with them a few months ago.
