MJ Rice to North Carolina State

Rice was the first of the transfers that stung a good bit due to the fact that KU (at the time) had lost all three of their starting wings and didn’t have any other non-freshmen wings on the roster. With the transfer additions, that sting has worn off a good bit, but Rice still had a ton of potential. He will try to reach that potential this year at NC State.

The Wolfpack lost a ton of their offense from last season, including Terquavion Smith and Jarkel Joiner (who combined to score 35 points per game). A third starter, Jack Clark, transferred to Clemson. While Rice hasn’t shown himself as a high-level scorer, his pure athleticism should give him plenty of opportunities to find the basket. NC State has a good group of freshmen and transfers coming in, but Rice has a chance to really show his stuff this season.
