Bobby Pettiford to East Carolina

Speaking of the overtime thriller against Wisconsin, the hero of that game will also be playing the rest of his college basketball elsewhere. Bobby Pettiford, who had the acrobatic, game-winning, putback layup at the buzzer, has taken his talents to East Carolina.

A path to playing time isn’t quite as clear for Pettiford as it is for most of the other recruits, but his talent should allow him to compete for significant minutes. The Pirates had eight guards play 10+ minutes per game last season, and five of them are back this season (including two of their three starting guards). It will be a battle for Pettiford, but his pedigree and experience at a higher level should grant him a slight advantage.
