Kansas basketball: Single-game leaders for every major statistical category

Wayne Simien — 18 free throws made
This is likely another “should be Wilt’s record,” but I can only find free throw numbers for the NCAA Tournament during his time. Therefore, Wayne Simien makes an appearance instead.
Simien was a really, really good player and could have been even better if not for nagging knee issues throughout his career. One of the highlights of his great career was in the 2004 Sweet Sixteen.
While the Jayhawks rolled to a 26-point win over UAB, it was Simien’s performance that has lived on. The junior big man dominated in his 28 minutes of game time, collecting 30 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and a still-record 18 free throws on 20 attempts. While his career ended in complete heartbreak the following year, Simien still has the free throw record to this day.
