Gradey Dick — Pick No. 10 (Dallas Mavericks)
Dick wasn’t even supposed to be a one-and-done player when he came to Kansas, but he exceeded everybody’s expectations with a spectacular freshman year. Bleacher Report has him being taken by the Dallas Mavericks at No. 10, a plausible spot for someone who has been hovering over the lottery for quite some time.
This is what they said about him being picked by Mark Cuban’s Mavericks:
"With the New York Knicks’ pick, the Mavericks could draft Dick for his shooting and the extra spacing he’d provide for the team’s star ball-handlers. There is a guarantee tied to his shot-making and its value/purpose to the rotation and eventual starting lineup."
With Kyrie Irving potentially signing elsewhere this summer and Luka Doncic becoming increasingly unhappy with the organization, Dallas must surround their superstar player with outside shooters like Dick. Although a 19-year-old might not transform the Mavs into championship contenders, their roster outside the top players is rather feeble.
One thing is for sure — Kansas basketball fans will not have to wait long to hear his name called on draft night.
