Kansas basketball transfer Kyle Cuffe Jr. is heading home to New York to play for the Syracuse Orange next season.
Kyle Cuffe had a challenging tenure with the Kansas Jayhawks, not scoring an in-game point during his two seasons in Lawrence. He will look to get a fresh start after transferring to Syracuse.
A 6-foot-2 point guard from New Jersey, Cuffe will go down as a national champion at KU. He redshirted in 2021-22 after reclassifying up a year and was forced to medically redshirt this past season when he tore his MCL and PCL in pre-game practice. In his time at Kansas, Cuffe missed both of his shot attempts and grabbed one rebound.
Coming out of high school, Cuffe was ranked No. 109 in the country by 247 Sports and No. 3 in the state. His athleticism and ability to get to the rim is the most essential quality of his game.

Cuffe will join an Orange team that went 17-15 last year. Legendary head coach Jim Boeheim and the university parted ways this winter. He spent 47 years at the helm for Syracuse and defeated Kansas in the 2003 national championship game. Adrian Autry will serve as head coach next season.
While he might need to serve as a reserve this year, Cuffe should have a sizable role cut out for him at Syracuse. Despite spending two years with the Jayhawks, he has all four years of eligibility remaining because he redshirted both seasons.
He never had an opportunity to prove himself at Kansas, but fans know he has tremendous potential. Syracuse is getting a great player in Cuffe. Now that he is officially gone, Ernest Udeh Jr. is the only Jayhawk transfer to remain uncommitted in the transfer portal.
