Last week was filled with ups and downs for Kansas basketball fans, but there might be a shortage of news in the next few days.

Ernest Udeh Jr. transferred, the Mackenzie Mgbako fiasco came to an end, and several other headlines developed last week for the Kansas Jayhawks. Let’s look at some current news stories from the past few days.

Braun bros lead the way

The Braun family stole the spotlight for KU news yesterday. Christian and the Denver Nuggets narrowly defeated the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 1 of the Western Conference finals. He missed both shot attempts, grabbing one rebound and blocking a shot in 12 minutes played. Denver returns to the hardwood tomorrow at 7:30 PM CT.

Christian’s older brother, Parker, committed to Kansas to fill the team’s tenth scholarship. It will be his fifth and final season of college basketball after spending two years at Mizzou and the last two years at Santa Clara. Parker is a 6-foot-8 big man who averaged 7.7 points and 5.8 rebounds as a senior.

Tre Johnson cuts list to six

The No. 1 player in the Class of 2024 cut his list to six schools and included Kansas. Don’t get your hopes up, Jayhawk fans. It’s ultimately a two-school race between Kentucky and Baylor. His father played basketball in Waco, and Kentucky has gained traction in recent months.

Three Jayhawks appear at NBA Draft Combine

As expected, Gradey Dick, Jalen Wilson, and Kevin McCullar appeared at the NBA Draft Combine. It began May 15th and will conclude May 21st.

Players have until May 31st to withdraw their name from the pool and retain college eligibility. Fans are awaiting a decision from Kevin McCullar and Kansas transfer targets such as Grant Nelson and Arthur Kaluma.

Frank Mason’s auctioned memorabilia

Jayhawk legend Frank Mason III posted this on Twitter on Sunday, signifying that his KU memorabilia was auctioned without his content. Extra Space Storage reportedly sold his personal trophies, Big 12 championship rings, and more to Grey Flannel Auctions. Mason is attempting to return the belongings to their rightful owner.

Things to note

There is a dead period for college basketball between May 18th and May 26th, primarily because of players participating in the Draft Combine. Don’t expect anything besides mere speculation in the next week — the Kansas staff will be working hard to bring in its final two scholarship players.

dark. Next. 3 advantages, disadvantages for Kevin McCullar if he returns to KU
