Kansas football has been quiet in the portal this offseason, but they just picked up a commitment from one of its best transfers in program history.
The Kansas Jayhawks football program is on the rise, and the quality of its players continues to improve. One of the best transfers in school history just joined Lance Leipold to play for KU.
Dylan Brooks, a former four-star EDGE who recently transferred out of Auburn, committed to Kansas today. The 6-foot-4, 235-pound defensive end figures to be one of the top edge rushers the Jayhawks have ever had.
Coming out of high school, Brooks was 247 Sports‘ No. 118th-ranked player in the Class of 2021. He committed to Auburn and redshirted his first season with the Tigers, so he will have three years of eligibility remaining at Kansas. In the past season, Brooks recorded six total tackles, one sack, and a fumble recovery. Now, he heads to Lawrence in hopes of more playing time.
Brooks is a big-time get for the Jayhawks’ defensive line, especially with 2022 sack leader Lonnie Phelps headed to the NFL. Phelps left a giant void when he entered the draft, but the addition of Brooks eases the loss significantly.

He is the second-highest-ranked transfer in Kansas football history, ranking behind only former Alabama WR Daylon Charlot. Brooks, a fellow SEC transfer, has high expectations with the program.
More transfers could be on the way for KU, so stay tuned.
