6. Frank Mason III (1,885 points)
Mason scored 753 points in one season, which is the sixth-highest points total in a season in program history. In 145 games played, the 2016-17 National Player of the Year averaged 13.0 points per game, including 20.9 points per game in his senior season. He played at Kansas from 2013 to 2017.
The 5-foot-11 guard could control the game’s tempo, hit difficult shots from the perimeter, and use his stealthiness to craft his way into the lane for a basket at the hoop. He was a nightmare for opposing defensive matchups, leading to a very successful career at the university.
Mason was a late second-round draft pick in 2017. With his size holding him to a disadvantage for the majority of his time in the NBA, his days in the league were quickly numbered. He now plays in the LNB Pro A league for the SLUC Nancy Basket. Frank plays in the same league as Kansas alum (and the ninth-ranked player on the all-time Jayhawk scoring list) Perry Ellis.
