4. Even if the roster does not have much depth, Kansas still has the best point guard-center duo in the nation — and other talents on top of that.

Amid all the fog the Mackenzie Mgbako situation has created, Kansas fans often forget how excited they were a week ago for this upcoming season. Whether Mgbako joined the team or not, the Jayhawks have the best playmaker in the country and a Wooden Award candidate on their team.

Three scholarships have yet to be taken, which should not be a problem for a program as prestigious as KU’s. Anybody with common sense knows that the Jayhawks will not go into next year with no backup big men.

With their current roster alone, Kansas would still compete for a regular season Big 12 title. They need that extra piece to put them over the top, but fans should not go into worry mode anytime soon.
