3. Experienced players win championships, which Kansas has plenty of.

Freshmen never have a clear path to playing time while playing for Bill Self. That is not to say that Mgbako would not have seen the floor much, but perhaps less than we might have imagined. Leave the all-freshman lineups for schools like Duke and Kentucky.

Meanwhile, Kansas has a plethora of experienced players. Dajuan Harris is entering his fifth season of college basketball, and Nick Timberlake is entering his sixth. Hunter Dickinson will be a senior. A team with that many upperclassmen is the recipe for success in today’s game.

When it is all said and done, Indiana will likely be fighting for a spot on the bubble come March. Losing out on an 18-year-old (unless he is a generational talent) is not as significant as one might assume. Kansas will be right back in the championship hunt during March Madness.
