1. The transfer portal still has an abundance of talent that Kansas could choose from.

More than 1,000 D-I basketball athletes have entered the transfer portal this offseason. Nearly 700 of those players have yet to select their new school. Even if it is the middle of May, Kansas will be able to choose between hundreds of guys on the market.

Mgbako’s situation was rare because it is extremely late for high schoolers to de-commit this late in their recruitment process. It practically felt like he was a transfer because of his status and the time he decided to commit. Nonetheless, the season commences in nearly six months. There is plenty of time to bring in three players to the winningest program in the sport.

A name that comes to mind is Creighton transfer Arthur Kaluma. Like Mgbako, he is a face-up forward with a versatile offensive game and a respectable outside shot. No matter who Bill Self’s coaching staff brings in, they will fit in just fine with the current roster.
