Kansas basketball does not have any commitments for the Class of 2024 or 2025, but Bill Self is still working his way into the recruiting trail.

The Kansas Jayhawks offered five-star recruit Cooper Flagg, per his Twitter page. A sophomore who attends Montverde Academy, Flagg is the No. 2 recruit in the Class of 2025 according to the 247 Sports rankings.

He is a 6-foot-8 power forward, and at 16 years old, he still has time to grow. Flagg will be one top picks in the 2026 NBA Draft, as he is undoubtedly a one-and-done player.

Kansas State, Duke, UConn, Michigan, and others have also extended offers to Flagg. He figures to commit within the next year and a half or so, depending on if he makes his decision before National Signing Day.

The early favorite for Flagg is Duke. Rivals’ FutureCast put in an early prediction for him to head to Durham when his collegiate career commences. Flagg himself said that Duke was his “dream school”. However, at such an early stage and with the influx of recruits Duke receives, there is no telling where he will commit yet.

Eric Bossi wrote this about Flagg when he was a freshman:

"“Pushing 6-foot-8, Flagg is very athletic for a freshman and spends a lot of his time playing above the rim. To go along with his already prolific dunking ability against other talented kids, Flagg’s ability to shoot, pass, handle and rebound all stood out. This kid plays with an edge to him and looks to be legit as a player and long-term prospect.”"

As he continues to obtain more national attention, Flagg will get more and more offers from prestigious programs like Kansas. While nothing denotes that KU would be one of his top schools, it is hard to turn down the prospects of playing in Allen Fieldhouse for a Hall of Fame head coach.
