Hunter Dickinson embarked on what could be his final official visit this weekend. Could he commit to Kansas basketball this week?

Kansas Jayhawks fans have become restless while awaiting news of Hunter Dickinson’s recruitment. The superstar big man from Michigan entered the transfer portal a month ago and is the most coveted player on the market.

He averaged 18.5 points and 9.0 rebounds in his junior season. Dickinson has 1,617 career points at Michigan and has been their leading scorer since he arrived in 2020-21.

Dickinson has kept everyone in suspense recently, but it might come to an end in the next few days. After completing his official visit with the Villanova Wildcats, he is not expected to schedule another one elsewhere.

His other official visits were with Kansas and Kentucky. Other schools Dickinson is linked to are Maryland and Georgetown, which both offer the prospect of proximity to home. He completed unofficial visits to those schools.

The consensus is that Villanova is the final visit he will take. Considering the calendar just turned to May, we should expect a commitment announcement anytime within the next week or two.

Kansas could provide several essential factors to Dickinson, such as playing for a Hall of Fame head coach and a blue-blood program. On RoundBall Podcast, in which Jordan Bohannon, Marty Mush, and Dickinson himself run, he complimented Dajuan Harris and called him the “perfect point guard.” Those two could form one of the best tandems in all of college basketball.

There is no telling which school he might head to. Dickinson has done a fantastic job of keeping his recruitment hush-hush and avoiding rumors, so all we as fans can do is speculate. However, there is no doubt that Kansas would become one of the best teams in the country if he chooses the Jayhawks.
