3. Kelly Oubre Jr. — Charlotte Hornets

2022-23 season stats: 48 GP, 20.3 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 1.1 APG, 43.3% FG

It is hard to believe that it has been eight years since Oubre Jr. put on a Kansas basketball uniform. As is the case with freshman under Bill Self, he was not the team’s star. Oubre Jr. still did well enough for himself to be taken 15th in the NBA Draft.

He might receive more national recognition for his handsome looks, but Kelly can also play basketball exceptionally well. Although injuries have held him back in recent years, he averaged a career-high in points this season with Charlotte.

Even though his statistics are impressive, he struggles with consistency. He could oscillate between five points or 25 points on any night. Given that he played for one of the league’s worst teams, you could say he was putting up “empty” numbers. Oubre Jr. takes far too many three-pointers and is not the best defensive player, but is still better than most players on this list.

Oubre Jr. and fellow former Jayhawk Svi Mykhailiuk could play on the Hornets together for years to come. He has made a significant impact in the league and will continue to do so during the prime of his career.
