Who would have thought that of all players to come out of Kansas, this would be the one that shines the brightest? He is making a case to be considered the second-best NBA Jayhawk of all time behind Wilt Chamberlain. If or when he wins the league’s MVP award this year, he will be the first former Kansas player to do so since Wilt did in 1968.

Putting Embiid at No. 1 was probably the easiest decision to ever have been made. The gap between him and other former Jayhawks in the NBA right now is colossal.

After winning the scoring title last season, he followed it up by doing it again this year. Embiid has averaged a 20-point double-double in every full season of his career. Despite debuting in the NBA in his third season (he missed the two previous seasons due to injury), he became the fastest 76er to score 10,000 points, passing Hall of Famer Allen Iverson. His first NBA Finals run could be in store if Philly keeps it up.

Being able to boast about Embiid’s achievements are some of the best bragging rights a Kansas fan can have. He is, without question, the best former Kansas Jayhawk in the NBA right now.
