2. Jaylon Tyson — Texas Tech Raiders

2022-23 season stats: 10.7 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 1.3 APG

Tyson only entered the portal one week ago, but he has quickly become one of the top targets for Kansas. After Harrison Ingram committed to UNC, all eyes shifted to where the former Red Raider would head.

He has not set a date for his official visit to KU, which should occur shortly, per JayhawkSlant on Twitter. Kansas is not linked with many other wings in the transfer portal, so it is key that Bill Self gets Tyson or someone along the likes of him to commit.

After playing for two years at Big 12 schools — he transferred from Texas following his freshman season — Tyson might play for his third school in the conference in as many years. Considering Texas Tech’s head coach Mark Adams was fired for making racially insensitive comments, he should have no issue receiving a waiver that lets him play instantly.

The 6-foot-6-inch guard is on an official visit to Cal right now. Auburn is the other school reportedly interested in him. A rebounding wing player who shoots above 40 percent from distance is the perfect guy for a Kansas team that lacks forwards.
