5. Gradey Dick (2022-2023)

Did KU’s rivals feel hatred towards Gradey, or did they just like to clown him for his name? Either might be true, but K-State and other Big 12 schools loved to poke fun at him.

He only spent a year in Lawrence, so he might have been higher on this list if he lingered another season and made more of a name for himself. However, even as a one-and-done, Dick made an impression rather quickly against Kansas opponents.

Gradey earned his reputation through trash-talking and outlandish stunts — look at this snapshot of him with his feet kicked up after winning the Big 12 regular season title. He had the desire to be hated by others, and it worked to perfection.

Whether it was with inappropriate chants after he missed a three-pointer or making fun of his floppy hair, rival fans loved to joke around about Dick. Although he was a terrific player, his time in Lawrence consisted of several hilarious moments when he was on the floor. Opposing teams hated Gradey, and he hated them back.
