10 Kansas basketball players the Jayhawks rivals loved to hate the most
9. Sherron Collins (2006-2010)
The late 2000s to the early 2010s consisted of some troublesome Jayhawks. Although Collins was the winningest player in Kansas basketball history when he graduated, he did not come without his flaws.
Several aspects contributed to the problems he encountered in Lawrence. For rival schools, Collins’ weight problem was the butt of most of their jokes. He once ballooned to 230 pounds despite his 5’11” height. Even though he went on a self-proclaimed “Subway diet,” it was not enough to avoid the wisecracks of him being fat. Mizzou’s student section sent dozens of pizzas with unappetizing combinations to his hotel room to show how much they hated him.
It is never a good sign for a basketball player, let alone a point guard, to be overweight. Collins made it easy for Mizzou and other Big 12 rivals to make fun of him.
Aside from failing to stay in shape, he also had off-court issues. Collins was arrested in 2008 for an altercation he had in an elevator. If you look up what he did, you will see why some people hated him.
