2. Utah Jazz: 9th pick in NBA Draft
Utah was a very fun team to watch this season. After blowing up the roster in the off-season, head coach Will Hardy put together a respectable run that put them in play-in contention. Lauri Markkanen’s emergence as a star player and Jordan Clarkson’s veteran presence put them on the map in 2022-23.
Their roster could still use a bolster, as they ranked 20th in the NBA in three-point percentage. They dealt Malik Beasley and Nickeil Alexander-Walker at the deadline, some of their best jump shooters. Utah is stacking up on young talent and needs some shooters on the floor. A player like Gradey Dick is the perfect guy to satisfy this need.
He will have competition at the guard spot with Collin Sexton and fellow Jayhawk alum Ochai Agbaji, but we know that Dick is a fierce competitor. Gradey would complement Clarkson, Markkannen, and Walker Kessler nicely in next year’s lineup. There is a good chance that the Jazz choose a Kansas basketball product in the first round back-to-back years.
