2000 – Drew Gooden
Speaking of the two-time winner club, Gooden barely squeaked in for the 21st-century group. While he had some stout competition (Collison and Kenny Gregory both averaged at least 14 points and 6.7 rebounds), Gooden was the top dog in just his second year in Lawrence. His 16 points and eight rebounds per game were good enough for the first of his two All-Big 12 selections. This was one of the more balanced lineups on this list, with all five starters averaging double-digit points and another averaging 9.5 per game. Gooden’s numbers aren’t quite up there with the best of the best seasons (likely due to the amount of surrounding talent), but he was still good enough to make the list for a second time.
