2012 – Jeff Withey

The easy answer is Ben McLemore. He was the leading scorer and the one that got people out of their seats with his play. However, it was the big man inside that anchored the team. Withey was a force on both sides of the floor and is one of the best-shot blockers in Kansas history. He swatted a ridiculous 3.9 shots per game in 2012 and had multiple blocks in all but seven of his games. He had a ridiculous 12 blocks against San Jose State and still holds the record for most blocks in a single NCAA Tournament (31). He was also a solid offensive threat, collecting nearly 14 points per game en route to being named an All-American, adding to his trophy case that included two Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year awards.
