One of the biggest Jayhawk comebacks I can remember (excluding last year’s National Championship, of course) came on a Saturday afternoon against then-ninth-ranked Baylor. A four-point game at the eight-minute mark of the first half turned into a 17-point thrashing before the under four timeout.

KU did a little bit of work and got it back to 13 at halftime, but chances still seemed grim. That was until they went on a 10-0 run in the first two and a half minutes of the second half.

With 14:29 still left to play, Gradey Dick hit a three to give the Jayhawks the lead. Just four minutes later, they had a double-digit lead of their own, and they wouldn’t let it slip as Baylor did. The Bears would never get closer than eight, and KU would pick up a massive win. It was a typical Bill Self-coaching masterclass.
