Kansas basketball: Ranking the top 5 games from the 2022-23 season
By Kyle Jones
This one was close for the whole 40 minutes of play. Texas Tech’s largest lead was eight, and Kansas led by double digits for just over two minutes the entire game. The Jayhawks led by eight with three minutes left, but a 7-0 run in 1:30 of game time brought the Red Raiders within one.
A basket for both teams kept the lead at one with a minute to play. Gradey Dick missed a three-pointer, and Tech had a chance to take the lead. However, Pop Isaacs tried to drive and lost the ball. Kevin McCullar threw it ahead to KJ Adams, who threw it down to bump the lead back to three.
Kevin Obanor finished the night with 26 points but needed 29 as his three-pointer at the buzzer fell short. What made this one even sweeter was how the crowd treated McCullar in his return to Lubbock (very poorly) and how the team rallied to pull out a win.
