Ouch. This one hurt. No Kansas fan will ever forget Trey Burke’s improbably shot to send the game to overtime.

If only Elijah Johnson had made even one of those foul shots. It was a considerable blemish on what was otherwise a solid career at Kansas.

KU had all the momentum in the world after beating UNC in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Jeff Withey, Travis Releford, Kevin Young, and Elijah Johnson were all seniors. It should not have ended like this for them.

After the game entered overtime, it was evident that Michigan had already won. That shot sucked the life out of every fan watching from the stands.

There is nothing to harp on besides that missed free throw. It was a relatively well-played game until that point. After losing in the championship game to Kentucky a year prior, the Jayhawks could not make their way back to the title game to give their guys another crack at it.
