The No. 3 Kansas Jayhawks look to clinch at least a share of the Big 12 Conference title as they host Texas Tech. Kansas has three straight wins over the Red Raiders and six straight wins overall, so the Jayhawks are flying high with confidence as we approach March.

Texas Tech just saw a four-game winning streak snapped in a narrow one-point loss to TCU, and the Red Raiders hope to earn a huge road upset to bolster their NCAA Tournament profile.

Can the Jayhawks put an exclamation point on another wildly successful season or will Texas Tech give the selection committee something to think about?

Let’s take a look at the odds before jumping into my best bet for the matchup.

Texas Tech vs. Kansas odds, spread, and total

Texas Tech vs. Kansas prediction and pick

Both of these teams have been kind of bettors of late. Kansas covered the spread in five of its last six games while Texas Tech did the same in six of seven. That being said, I think there’s clear value on the Jayhawks to cover the large spread at home and clinch a share of the Big 12 title.

Kansas has a few key advantages to consider here. When you play a more talented team like Texas Tech is doing, you need to make up points by winning the turnover battle and securing more rebounds. Unfortunately for the Red Raiders, they rank 298th nationally in turnover percentage (20.1%) and 251st in defensive rebounding percentage (29.9%).

Those aren’t the only reasons to back the Jayhawks, though. Texas Tech ranks outside of the top 140 teams in 3-point shooting percentage, so it’ll need to score inside. That’s bad news against a Kansas team that’s 38th in opponent two-point field goal percentage (46.3%).

Tech can be beaten inside on the other end, allowing opponents to shoot 49% from two-point range (49%).

With Gradey Dick and Dajuan Harris heating up to pair with Jalen Wilson’s consistent excellence, feel confident backing the Jayhawks to improve to 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games against the Red Raiders.

Game odds refresh periodically and are subject to change.
