Kansas had a thrilling week, rallying to beat Oklahoma and Iowa State by a combined six points.

Now the Jayhawks face a resurgent Kansas State team that is fresh off of a nine game winning streak that ended at TCU over the weekend. The Wildcats have one of the best offenses in the country and will pose a tough test for the Jayhawks on the road, but KU has a formidable offense as well with the emergence of KJ Adams on the post.

What should we expect in this rivalry matchup? Here are the odds:

Kansas vs. Kansas State odds, spread and total

Kansas vs. Kansas State prediction and pick

Kansas State’s offense has been on a tear around Nowell, who is averaging over 25 points and nearly nine assists in Big 12 play. He’ll have his hands full with KU guard Dajuan Harris checking him, but I do expect the Wildcats to get their preferred offense that has scored 80 or more in three conference games this season.

The Wildcats play fast and the Jayhawks will oblige with the 114th adjusted tempo in the country according to KenPom while shooting nearly 38% from beyond the arc. The team is shooting 41% from three in conference play, and regression can come on the road against a stout K-State perimeter defense that allows the second lowest three-point rate in league games.

However, where K-State is vulnerable is on the inside, allowing teams to shoot 51% on two-point shots and have the worst defensive rebounding rate. Adams can play a pivotal role here, he has scored 14 or more points in all league games as well as at leas three offensive rebounds.

For the Jayhawks to get a road conference win they will need to score, and there’s a path to a shootout against a vulnerable Wildcats defense. I’ll play the over.
