In recent years, there hasn’t been much cause for celebration when it comes to Kansas football. That has all changed thanks to the arrival of Lance Leipold and this coaching staff.
For the first time since 2008, the Kansas Jayhawks are bowl eligible following a resounding defeat of the Oklahoma State Cowboys 37-16 in Lawrence on Saturday.
It was the Jayhawks’ first win against the Cowboys since 2007 and their first win against a ranked opponent since 2010.
Here’s a look at some of the reactions from across the country after KU’s big win.

In 7 seasons before Lance Leipold arrived at Kansas, Jayhawks were 9-60. KU now 6-3 & headed to 1st bowl game since 2008. Incredible job by Leipold

Every Power 5 program has been to a bowl game since 2017 except for two: Kansas and Nebraska.

Wow. Kansas Quarterback Jason Bean overcome with emotion after he leads the Jayhawks to a victory over Oklahoma State, clinching KU's first bowl berth since 2008. #KUfball @KCTV5 pic.twitter.com/pp1blX49xI

Some things in CFB are predictable. @KU_Football was a National “punch line”in P5 CFB. Their 5-0 start made them darlings in September. An open date allowed for a reboot of sorts, and seeing these kids emotionally spent like @jasonbean24 is why we do what we do. CFB fills hearts! https://t.co/tf9lsRu307
