Kansas vs Texas Tech Odds: Line, Spread, Over/Under

In the best college hoops matchup of the day, the #7 Kansas Jayhawks host the #18 Texas Tech Red Raiders at 8:00 PM CST. WynnBET has the Jayhawks as 7-point favorites and -300 (bet $30 to win $10) on the moneyline. The over/under is 138.

Kansas vs Texas Tech Prediction Tonight

The Jayhawks have revenge on their minds after losing 75-67 to the Red Raiders earlier this month. Coming off an incredible comeback win over Kansas State and a narrow 3-point victory over Oklahoma, Kansas has been in some battles lately. Covering the spread in just one of their previous five games, the Jayhawks are looking for a more comfortable win against a Red Raiders team that comes in with wins in five of their last six.

These are two of the best teams in the country, with Bart Torvik ranking Kansas as the 3rd best offense and Tech as the 5th-best defense. Kansas utilizes a versatile wing rotation with Ochai Agbaji and Christian Braun to put pressure on defenses while Tech relies on the 13th-best defensive turnover rate and 17th-best 2-point defense to rattle opposing offenses.

Kansas enjoys one of the best home-court advantages in America behind a rocking Allen Fieldhouse crowd. Tech, on the other hand, seems to struggle offensively on the road. They’ve covered the spread in just three of their last 10 road matchups and the total has gone under in three straight. As an underdog, Tech is 1-4 to the under this season.

This makes sense stylistically. Tech ranks just 281st in adjusted tempo, so they want to slow the game down and rely on their superior defense to churn out victories. Their offense is less comfortable on the road and I expect their trend of low-scoring road battles to continue.

I think the Jayhawks get their revenge, but the spread is too high for me against a team that has already beaten them this season. I’ll take the under 138 as my best bet in a game I expect to be a defensive struggle.
