These two Blue Bloods will face off for the SEC/Big 12 challenge on Jan. 29th in Lawrence.

We’ll see two seasoned coaches in Bill Self and John Calipari in what will be another strong test for both teams. The Wildcats are projected at #8 in ESPN’s Way-too-Early Top 25.

As for personnel on the court, the Jayhawks will face off against Wildcat newcomer TyTy Washington, a point guard who KU heavily recruited but lost out on over the summer. Washington is ranked as the No. 3 point guard by Rivals.com.

A key matchup in this game – and maybe the most important one – will undoubtedly be Washington against KU point guard Remy Martin, who has experience over Washington.

We’ll also see former West Virginia player Oscar Tshiebwe as he makes his debut as a Wildcat this season. Tshiebwe will go up against David McCormack as each player tries to protect the paint.

KU has had several close contests with Kentucky over the last decade, with the results evenly split between the teams. The Jayhawks are 4-4 in meetings with the Wildcats dating back to 2011.

As is usually the case when these two teams play, there will be plenty of talent on the court and the sidelines.
