The rebirth of the Border War will finally happen after 10 years in a renewed status. The Jayhawks and Tigers will face off for the first time since the 2011-2012 season.
The decades-long rivalry certainly came to an end in style. The Jayhawks were down by 19 points in the second half before storming back to win by one point in OT, an effort led by veterans Thomas Robinson and Tyshawn Taylor.
FLASHBACK: The last time KU and Mizzou met in The Border War when it counted was on February 25, 2012. The Jayhawks were down by 19 at one point and came back to win 87-86 in OT. Thomas Robinson had 28 PTS, 12 REB. Tyshawn Taylor added 24 PTS. The roar at Phog...loud. #kubball pic.twitter.com/Z2Mm5x6f1r

This matchup is one that fans have been hyping for years now. KU will start a six-year series with Mizzou, alternating between Lawrence and Columbia, with the last two years’ games being played at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.
While Mizzou is not on any Top 25 lists, the atmosphere in Allen Fieldhouse should make for one heck of a game considering the circumstances and history between these two teams. This one will be a battle with competition between fanbases off the court and players on the court running high.
