After completing exhibition play, KU will travel to New York for its season opener. They’ll take on the Spartans as part of the annual Champions Classic at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 3rd.

At this stage in the season, the Jayhawks are far from having a concrete lineup with solidified roles. However, opening the season with two Hall of Fame coaches and players competing for a rotation spot will make for an excellent showing on the court.

Michigan State is coming off a season where they narrowly avoided a missed NCAA Tournament, landing them a spot in the First Four before an OT loss to eventual Final Four team UCLA.

This season, the Spartans just missed ESPN’s Way-too-Early Top 25 summer rankings. However, expect Tom Izzo to have his guys ready to battle. This should be an all-around fun way for both teams to kick off the season in early November.
