#4: Nolan Cromwell, QB/S (1973-76)

Nolan Cromwell hailed from Ransom, Kansas, and was outstanding at both safety and quarterback. An all-around great athlete, Cromwell relied on his speed and ran on KU’s track team.

Cromwell rushed for 1,763 yards and 16 touchdowns in his two seasons at quarterback in 1975 and 1976. He also threw for 606 yards and 4 touchdowns but was mostly utilized with the wishbone offense.

Cromwell was an All-America honorable mention, First Team All-Big 8, and Big 8 Offensive Player of the Year in 1975. He was inducted into KU’s Ring of Honor during the 2005 season.

#3: Todd Reesing, QB (2006-09)

Todd Reesing is Kansas Football’s most accomplished and successful quarterback of the century, leading the Jayhawks to an Orange Bowl victory in the 2007 season.

Reesing is the KU record-holder in both career and single-season passing yards and touchdowns.  He threw for 11,194 yards, 90 touchdowns, and 932 completions with a 63.8 completion percentage.

In 2007, Reesing was a Davey O’Brien Award semifinalist for the best quarterback in college football and is now a member of the Kansas Football Ring of Honor.
