Kansas football kicks off fall camp soon and there’s plenty on fans’ minds as August shifts into full gear.

New head coach Lance Leipold will be out to change the direction of the program and perhaps bring a win or two this season. It all starts with fall camp.

Between stabilizing the offense and bringing consistency to the defense, Leipold will have work cut out for him. However, his staff brings valuable experience and the potential to get the job done.

With that being said, there’s a few things we’ll need to keep our eye out for as practices ramp up.

Repairs to the offensive line

Last season, running the offense seemed almost impossible. There was little to no support upfront and it arguably was one of Kansas’ worst areas on the field.

This time around, former Buffalo offensive line coach Scott Fuchs will be running the show.

Fuchs, who brings 26+ years of college coaching experience, will be looking to help the Jayhawks move the chains a little better this season. He’ll be aided by Notre Dame graduate transfer Colin Grunhard and Buffalo transfer Mike Novitsky.

This pair of college veterans have respectable time on their belts and will help Kansas make substantial changes to the offensive line.

As camp moves into full swing, progress on the offensive line should be reported on and we’ll hopefully hear good things coming from the trenches. Without any improvement on the line, it’s hard to believe this offense will find success.
