Anthony Davis is a three-star Skyline corner with Kansas football on his final list. Alongside Colorado and SMU, the Jayhawks are in the running for another skilled defender.

Kansas recently secured another three-star corner from the Dallas area, Jalon Peoples. The pair took their visit to Lawrence at the same time and may have impacted the impression Davis received from the Jayhawks’ program.

The high school senior is narrowing in on a commitment within a few weeks or a couple of days, according to JayhawkSlant.

Picking up Davis would be a strong boost to Kansas’ pass defense and would certainly help fill the position group with two young defenders with the potential to develop into defensive weapons down the line.

Along with recruitment from corners coach Chevis Jackson, wide receivers coach Emmett Jones seems to have taken a personable approach with Davis. This could be a make-or-break part of his recruitment.

"“Coach Jones is like talking to my head coach at my school, they are just the same. They treat you well and treat you like family. To be honest they tell it you real and I like that.”Davis on Coach Jones during his visit. (JayhawkSlant)"

Kansas has a solid duo of recruiters in both Jackson and Jones, who have been doing an excellent job in finding talent this offseason.

It sounds like Davis is strongly considering Kansas as a final choice, and that his visit experience was comparable to Peoples’. All recruits are unique, but there seem to have been some real positives coming out of the pair’s visit.

Davis also made trips to Colorado and SMU during June and will be rivaling the situation at Kansas. Both programs have put up winning records and multiple bowl appearances within the past five years.

The Jayhawks are marketing a program undergoing yet another rebuild, which is on the shoulders of new head coach Lance Leipold and his staff. A decision from Davis should come soon, and scoring his recruitment would be another strong look for the initial phases of the Leipold era.
