Thursday evening gifted Kansas basketball with the commitment of Zuby Ejiofor, a four-star power forward with some of the best physicality of his class.

After exploring his options, Ejiofor decided to become a Jayhawk following competitive offers from Arkansas, Houston, and Big 12 foe Oklahoma.

The young commit from Garland, TX has been regarded as someone who isn’t afraid to make some room on his way to the hoop, according to 247 Sports. His confidence in the paint has scored him offers from other Big 12 schools as well, including TCU, Texas, and Baylor.

After recently visiting Kansas on June 24, and it appears head coach Bill Self has won over Ejiofor’s confidence in the program.

The Texas native finished his junior season at Garland High School averaging an impressive 19.2 points per game on 20 appearances.

Highlights from The Circuit League in Dallas showcase his dominance inside, giving the opposing defense a handful when protecting the glass. His shot doesn’t stop there, Ejiofor can and will take an outside jumper if available. That’s must be a major plus for Coach Self.

Adding someone who can shake pressure and even find the basket from outside is a must-have for offenses looking to find score some insurance. Assuming he continues transitioning between his inside/outside shots during his senior year, he’ll have an excellent bucket built-up coming into Lawrence.

Ejiofor joins the 2022 class with another four-star forward, Gradey Dick, who announced his commitment to Kansas back in March. While only the second commitment for the Jayhawks so far, Coach Self’s recruiting trail looks positive so far with a pair of four-star commits.
