After reopening his commitment, four-star combo guard Jayden Epps has received a scholarship offer from Kansas basketball.

His decision was influenced by the recruiting process during the pandemic, which forced many changes during the past year.

As colleges begin to return to regular recruitment efforts, it makes sense that Epps would be interested in exploring all his options outside of his previous commitment to Providence.

Epps will be entering his senior year at King’s Fork next year and will have quite a few eyes on him during his final year on the high school court.

With offers from Florida, Illinois, and Arkansas, Kansas joins a competitive list of schools aiming to score the young Virginia prospect.

Even a short look at Epps’ highlights showcases his clean finish at the rim, which is complemented by his ability to avoid pressure inside.

Along with his confidence inside the paint, he also has a knack for putting away three-point buckets, which could be something that could develop well over the next year.

Epps isn’t the first 2022 prospect the Jayhawks have had their eyes on. Yohan Traore and Chris Livingston, both strong inside prospects, have received offers from Kansas.

As head coach Bill Self continues to shape his list of future potential, it seems he’s placing some interest on his perimeter.

If Kansas can play their cards right, Epps would be a solid addition to the roster in 2022. There’s room to grow at his level and his evasive abilities shouldn’t go unnoticed.
