Kansas basketball has extended an offer to 2022 prospect Yohan Traore, a talented center from Napa, California.

At 6′ 10”, Yohan provides quite a bit of size to work with and could signal Kansas’ interest in finding more vertical support in the paint.

Traore is currently being pursued by TCU and UC Santa Barbara, two schools with growing basketball programs.

There may be some competition for KU in the Big 12 to secure Yohan down the road, however, Kansas is arguably one of his best offers to date.

UC Santa Barbara poses a decent offer out of the Big West conference. From his home state of California, this program has grown substantially since 2017.

Despite losing to Creighton in the first round of the 2021 NCAA Tournament, it was the Gauchos’ first tournament appearance since 2011.

Whether or not he wants to stay in California remains up for debate, but the option is a solid one on his early list of offers.

Yohan can make strong contributions inside and from a look at his highlights, he is fairly assertive for a young center. Combining his height and speed, Traore can be a lethal threat for defenses.

Kansas must have their eye on adding a reliable center and Traore has the potential to grow into a considerable asset offensively.

With some young prospects, fans often see pre-mature commitments that are later rescinded.

Hopefully, in Kansas’ case, Traore will make his decision a little further down the line after evaluating his options.

Regardless, Traore brings a case for more support inside and it’ll be interesting to see whether or not he aims to bring his talents to the Big 12.
