Kansas basketball could have some new talent hitting the floor next season, as recent four-star commit Kyle Cuffe Jr. has reclassified into the class of 2021.

Some speculation had surrounded Cuffe’s decision to join the upcoming freshman class, and it seems he’s ready to take his game to the next level at Kansas.

Cuffe holds potential and depending on how he mixes into this seemingly fluid roster, he could be finding decent minutes in his first year.

Hailing from New Jersey, Kyle will be coming to Lawrence despite offers from Connecticut, Georgia, and Georgetown.

A confident guard, Cuffe is creative and can find the basket in a matter of seconds. Considering his highlights, fans should be excited to see how he develops his inside attack.

This past season, Kansas did not see much inside driving from its set of guards. Most often, we found inside support from forward David McCormack, hardly ever relying on our guards to work inside.

Having Kyle’s skill set will be beneficial in expanding our offensive approach, which should include more physicality from our guards in my opinion.

It will be nice to see how Cuffe mixes with an upcoming bench that will be much different following the recent flow of transfers away from the Kansas program.

Tristan Enaruna, Gethro Muscadin, Latrell Jossell, and most recently Bryce Thompson have decided to take their talents elsewhere following the 2020 season.

Sustaining younger talent will be a challenge for most college basketball programs with the new transfer rules from the NCAA. However, the Jayhawks will have some room to grow with their recent additions in young products such as Bobby Pettiford and of course, Kyle Cuffe Jr.
