Kansas basketball couldn’t seem to find an edge from behind the arc this past season, however, their interest in Utah transfer Alfonso Plummer could help change that.

Plummer has recently declared for the NBA Draft but retains an extra year of NCAA eligibility as an alternative option.

The former Utah guard was averaging over 13 points per game, as well as finding at least a pair of three-point buckets in each of his final three appearances with the Utes.

While it may be a long shot, Kansas has expressed interest in the 6′ 1” guard and he may consider bringing his talents to the Big 12 before he takes off for the NBA.

Kansas appears to be one of the top schools interested in Plummer, however, it shouldn’t surprise fans if he sees some attention from other Big 12 schools.

Alfonso is an attractive candidate because of his experience at Utah and his consistency from the three-point line.

His highlights provide a strong impression. He’s a comfortable shooter who can exercise a clean release under pressure.

If he chooses Kansas, he could hold a leadership role of sorts and hopefully create some chemistry during his final college year.

Whether or not he’d decide to come back to college basketball for another year, it’s hard to say.

Kansas will certainly be looking to improve their perimeter shot, however, following the three-point shooting struggles the Jayhawks faced in the bottom half of this past season.

With both Ochai Agbaji and Jalen Wilson aiming their attentions to the NBA, there could very well be room for some more three-point shooting talent on this roster come next season.
