Kansas basketball: Dajuan Harris continues to impress in first round win
Freshman guard Dajuan Harris continues to find solid minutes as Kansas basketball moves forward in the NCAA Tournament.
Kansas basketball found an impressive finish against Eastern Washington, which included more strong minutes from freshman guard Dajuan Harris.
Harris has always been a contributor throughout the season, but having him hitting his stride in tournament play is going to push the Jayhawks much farther.

The freshman posted 13 points, 4 assists, and a pair of steals in the win over the No. 14 seed Eagles. His performance included more minutes than usual, as a result of Jalen Wilson’s absence.
The real question is, should Harris have a more integral role on this roster as Kansas progresses through the tournament?
Now some fans might argue that Dajuan is already seeing adequate time on the floor, and that starting role wouldn’t change much.
However, following his performance against the Eagles, it’s clear that Dajuan simply brings a different energy to the floor.
His tempo creates a much faster offensive flow and when gets explosive, he can become a lethal threat for defenses.
Having Dajuan maneuvering his way through opposing defenders is opening up opportunities for shots both inside and outside.
He has mixed well with Ochai Agbaji and Marcus Garrett, who also had brilliant first-round performances, finding 20+ points each.
While Harris had an excellent first-round performance, it’s important to note that he is still young.
It’s important to keep perspective in these times and concentrate on making the best decisions to move the team forward.
Dajuan’s skillset is a valuable asset for Kansas, and it’ll be discussed whether or not he deserves more minutes before Monday. That’s a discussion that should be taken care of by head coach Bill Self.
There is a lot of development left for Dajuan, and fans should be excited about that. By far, he holds some of the most exciting potentials on this roster.
