Five Kansas basketball players to watch during March Madness

Marcus Garrett

A senior guard and one of Kansas’s best defenders, Marcus Garrett could be competing in his final NCAA Tournament, if he forgoes his additional granted season from the NCAA.

Garrett has put up at least 10 or more points since his senior night performance against Baylor.

The guard has been a leader on this offense, as well as a versatile defender for the Jayhawks upfront. His ability to sustain pressure has made him one of the best defenders in the Big 12.

His performance against Oklahoma featured 17 points and it seemed that he was going push Kansas’ offense into the right direction heading into the canceled semifinal against Texas.

Now the conference tourney is over, and the NCAA Tournament should be Garrett’s focus.

Marcus will be looked to for leadership in the tournament and if he’s looking for a decent look before the NBA Draft, he’ll need to demonstrate his worth one final time.

We should expect the senior to make his best strides in this year’s tournament, which will make for a very entertaining finish for his time with Kansas.
