Five Kansas basketball players to watch during March Madness

Bryce Thompson

Another freshman who should see minutes in this year’s tournament will Bryce Thompson, who was starting to break out as one of the more talented Jayhawks earlier in the season.

Thompson has made an excellent comeback from his finger injury that he suffered following a tough loss to Texas previously in the season.

The freshman guard missed a handful of games and has made his way back into the Kansas roster during the bottom half of the Jayhawks’ schedule.

Contributing consistent progress with a positive attitude, Bryce is working his way into starting his role on the Kansas roster. The freshman found himself in the starting five at one point in mid-March.

While he only averages a few buckets per game, his speed has made him a key asset to moving the ball on offense. He’s also applied his tempo to Kansas’ defensive efforts, oftentimes scrapping it out to find a loose ball.

This tournament should serve as an excellent experience for the young guard. He has quite a bit more basketball left at Kansas and fans will get to see how he does on the national stage for the first time.
