Three keys for Kansas basketball to win the Big 12 Tourney

2. Perimeter efforts from Braun, Wilson, and Agbaji

A major contributor to Kansas’ eight losses this season was the failure to consistently find an edge from behind the arc.

While Kansas holds sharpshooters in sophomores Christian Braun and Jalen Wilson, they’ve had a hard time getting shots to click and have seen multiple games with tough finishes from the perimeter.

If they can start to find a rhythm in Kansas City, it could be another huge momentum shift.

While Kansas has improved its three-point presence over the last few weeks, it seems that finding more opportunities is what’s driving this change.

It’s not uncommon to see Braun or Jalen put up 8 or 10 three-point attempts and only snag a couple on their way out the door. They’ll need to find more perimeter success if they’re going to stack on to leads in the Big 12 Tournament.

Along with these two younger shooters, junior Ochai Agbaji has a role from the three-point line for the Jayhawks. Agbaji has been a more consistent shooter recently, knocking down five outside buckets in an overtime loss against Texas.

If Agbaji can pull some weight in the conference tournament, it would be appreciated, as Kansas will need all the help they can get from the outside.
