With momentum shifting in the right direction, Christian Braun should take advantage of the timing to improve his shot and push Kansas basketball forward.

Kansas basketball has seen their momentum shift these last couple of weeks, now having won five straight against conference opponents. They’ve also rebounded in the AP Top 25 Poll, jumping from No. 23 to No. 17 as of this morning.

Now should be the time for Christian Braun to find his niche from the perimeter and start to knock down shots.

The Jayhawks ran a comfortable offense against Texas Tech, leading for a majority of the game. A shortcoming arose from the perimeter, as they’d go 7 of 24 from the three-point line.

Three of those would fall under Ochai Agbaji, who would find a decent 14 point performance on the day.

The more concerning statistics come from Braun, who put up 10 different attempts but would only get a couple to connect. While he did find a crucial bucket to seal the win over the Red Raiders, we should hope that he can get back in a groove tomorrow.

Starting the season’s first few weeks well, Braun was looking like one of the best sharpshooters on this roster.

Since then, it’s kinda been a rocky road for the sophomore. In his last three starts, he is only 3 for 17 on three-point attempts. He was starting to pick up the pace against Iowa State, where he found two decent performances, but now he’s starting to linger off again.

The good news for Braun is that Texas’ perimeter defense sits around the middle-of-the-pack in the conference and should give him a better chance at finding opportunities outside.

While it’s also been nice to have Christian exercising his outside attack, if he can start hitting three-point buckets more consistently, I’m sure fans would appreciate that more.
