Kansas basketball ended their three-game losing streak with a win over TCU at Allen Fieldhouse. Strong performances off the bench helped secure the win at home and hopefully will push Kansas into a better rhythm.

Returning home after a lengthy road trip, Kansas basketball was able to pick up a much-needed win over the TCU Horned Frogs. The 59-51 victory comes after a close matchup where Kansas would find themselves trailing by a tight score at the half.

Ochai Agbaji and David McCormack had solid nights on the floor, contributing a combined 28 points for the Jayhawks. Having these two step up was a major help for Kansas and it also allowed for some talent off the bench to shine.

While freshman Dajuan Harris didn’t find a starting role, he was quickly mixed into the action. Harris would found 7 points and his speed would help move the ball for the Jayhawks. Along with Dajuan, Tyon Grant-Foster found himself some excellent minutes, adding 9 points and 5 total rebounds on the stat sheet.

Defensively, Kansas struggled to hold off the consistent scoring from TCU’s freshman guard Mike Miles, would stack 18 points against the Jayhawks. His shooting ability and Kevin Samuel cleaning up the glass helped keep the Horned Frogs in the conversation until late in the second half.

Heading into the final minutes, Kansas would put their foot on the gas, at one point posting a 10 point lead on the Horned Frogs. Marcus Garrett was able to find a better groove in the later minutes of the second half, even finding a slam on a breakaway steal.

Kansas wouldn’t find a whole lot of success from the perimeter, but Christian Braun did find a solid three in the later minutes of the game. While the Jayhawks couldn’t get much going behind the arc, it was good to see they could make up for it with speed and transition scoring.

While the win wasn’t the prettiest, it’s still a “W” in the book and the first step to getting this season back on track. It does appear though that Kansas is still testing the waters from the three-point line and it will hopefully improve against Tennessee in the Big 12/SEC challenge on Jan. 30th.
