Kansas football concluded it’s program’s ‘early signing period’ with a late addition that has boosted the class into what could be its highest ranked Big 12 finish in over 10 years.

The Kansas Jayhawks wrapped up the college football ‘early signing period’ today with a surprising announcement, another addition to their stellar 2021 recruiting class.

Three-star defensive back Edwin White from Mobile, AL signed with Kansas today over offers from Tennessee, Mississippi, Mississippi State, and others.

The late signing brings this year’s class total to 22, all of whom come from the high school ranks. We saw 20 of our prospects sign their letters of intent this week, as opposed to waiting until the official signing day in February.

This is a tremendous success for the rebuilding program, as it’s crucial to get these players signed early and locked in as Jayhawks.

In an even bigger win for the program, six of the signees plan to enroll early and arrive on campus for the spring semester – including quarterback Ben Easters, along with offensive linemen Larson Workman and De’Kedrick Sterns. All of which should be counted on to contribute early.

With White’s commitment, the class now ranks No. 46 in the country and tied for No. 5 in the Big 12 with Iowa State, the latter of which would be KU’s highest finish in more than a decade.

Rankings will be finalized following the official signing day on Feb. 3, 2021.

The Jayhawks could still add more to this class before it’s all said and done, but this week was an encouraging start towards the 2021 season and the future of Kansas football.
